It’s been a month since swallowing up Unhalad, and Archeval’s digestion’s about to show the signs. Assuming no cure to his sickness, Archeval can look forward to the following symptoms across the next three months:
August: a hunger that lingers, faint but sharpening at the edges. As the month progresses, this will strengthen from an absent thought to a dull but persistent ache in Archeval belly, not unlike a tooth that’s barely starting to give trouble. Before sleeping, he might hear a familiar drip — the sound of wet from the salt mines, if he recalls it. Archeval may start to experience the beginning of headaches and find himself blinking away wisps of smoke and a greyed-out visage of the world, for only a second or two at a time. At first, this might seem no different than a failing of sight. Getting on in your years, at the ripe age of bishounen, Archeval.
September: Archeval is increasingly losing weight, although at a progressive pace, no matter his good feeding habits. Now and then, he will hear the clattering of teeth and the wail of men — if he is wearing his communicator, he will be able to tell these are miners in the throes of agony, before starving in the mines where they were entrapped. He will have dreams of hunger, waking up faint. Sometimes, he will find his hands minorly outside of his control: failing to grasp a cup properly, or hold his sword, reaching for items he did not intend to examine. Looking in mirrors, he will sometimes see the silhouette of Unhalad, supraposed with his own.
October: turning gaunt and drained, Archeval will have lost considerable weight. He will be hungry at all times, an ache that ruins his belly and keeps him awake until he collapses asleep. No solace there, as he will start to dream of starvation, and of any people he associates with feeding and hunger. Unknown to Archeval, Unhalad will take over during some of his sleeping hours, typically only walking around or exercising his body, taking it through sword forms and acquainting himself to it. He will be able to hear Unhalad now, taunting him about his sickness.
Progressing into month four with the sickness could bring about his death, so hit up the academies, sorcery schools or the healing or necromantic districts at some point over the next three months, Arche!
