HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER RUIN FAMILY DINNER? implies thinking for yourself isn't all that bad, sparks ensue.

THEIR TV TROPE: Strong Silent Type.

WHAT CAN YOUR CHARACTER BRING TO THE TABLE? have we mentioned he kills things really good? For actual positives, he's a topnotch exorcist and, while prone to an annoyingly and sometimes rigidly upstanding moral behaviour, will listen people out. He's a good confidant! ............mostly by sitting there, but, really. Look at your options in this group.

WHAT ARE THEY UP TO? I'm carrying out home renovations irl, so I've been keeping him mostly helping other folks out. He's aboard the commandeered sunken & summoned pirate ship, the Red Rooster, and I'm thinking of having him be in touch with someone to try to gain an actual captain on board — or someone a little more navigationally prone. He's otherwise just going to check on his people for a while, and try to parse through his experience in the Stranding — it's too philosophically close to a death realm for his taste.

CR/SCENARIOS YOU WANT:

■ he's been slightly destabilised by the amount of death exposure he and the group have had, so anyone willing to exorcise or go through ablutions with him would be fab

■ generally, he's more attuned to the trauma everyone has been experiencing lately, so while he's not the warmest individual, he has experience in appeasement — typically of the dead — and might try

■ folks to snoop snoop around the tongue artefact with, once that becomes public info, because what the hell

■ someone with whom to brainstorm the mystery of the Stranding

snooping around creepy artefacts sounds a+ and also ablutions call to me considering their previous talks + their husbands... i promise to be more helpful and proactive post brain fog but i want things, we know this

Few things unsettle Lan Wangji anymore, but death magic ticks a box.

okay i absolutely love their cr so much. McCoy doesn't know a damn thing about exorcism that isn't like.... the sort of super old-school Georgia/Americana folklore-y brand stuff, so he'll be interested to find out more.

I am so down to follow up on this, especially because of how beautifully sensible McCoy is, and how ethereal Wangji can make ~magic~ look — we will douse McCoy in #exorcism.

I've been dropping every single ball that's landed in my hands lately, after moving into a fixer-upper, but I shall remember this!

More seriously, Xie Lian probably knows quite a bit about purification rituals. he just... doesn't really have the qi for them.
