Human-looking people not being humans is pretty common where Kahl's from, and glowing eyes is one of the signs of some special types that might be a millennia-old remnant of a fallen empire, or turn into a biomechanical war machine at literally any moment...

It's okay though, Kahl's technically not human either. Non-human buddies?
