All right -- here's your reward, eased by the fact that the Attaryl assume Wrath is a kindred soul, given his association with targeted asset Beitang Moran:
- the Attaryl at first vaguely, then straightforwardly confirm that such spiritual transfer magic exists, though it was long considered an inferior option to the divine right of the Doxe to lengthen his or her life. The Attaryl have been providing the latter service for ruling Doxes for decades. In doing so, they have earned the status and favour they currently inexplicably enjoy as the second greatest school of Taravast sorcery, even though they are infinitely less powerful in terms of offensive skills than the Bessis who nearly eradicated them.
- the life lengthening rites are inevitably taxing on the body and cannot be renewed interminably. If a body is sickly and weak, it cannot withstand this magic, and Doxe Bonaccorso has always been of frail constitution.
- they do not confirm or deny that this is taking place, but agree that for the likes of Bonaccorso, a rite of transferring his spirit to the body of another person would be the next best thing. However, this sorcery is still coarse and in many ways unsophisticated. Sorcerers have not really mastered the art of a dual exchange, which requires a simultaneous transfer of two spirits. They understand it is possible notionally and academically, but they are still exploring its implementation. So far, some have managed squeezing out the original spirit of one body and putting in another soul — but that leaves one body homeless and dead, and one spirit eradicated. It's all a work in progress.
