Hi Eastbounders, I'm Li and I'm a new/prospective player to the game! I'm looking at bringing a fun character who can roll with both lighthearted hijinks and surprisingly serious themes.

ONE-SENTENCE ELEVATOR PITCH: Dorky god decides to ignore his god of war background and become Japan's coolest prosperity god instead, by fulfilling people's wishes (read: doing odd jobs) for 5 yen; soul shenanigans, mortal friendships and found family ensue.
TIMELINE POINT YOU'RE CONSIDERING: End of anime series/OVA (not fully caught up on recent manga stuff though).

Yato's going to get on so well with Xie Lian, if you bring him in, Xie Lian's basically a martial god doing the rounds begging / ignoring his duties, we'll be all set for a pantheon of slackers.

Oooh that'll be a lot of fun!! Yato doesn't have a lot of good relations with most gods in his world, so meeting someone who's chill with him will make him very happy.

okay but Yato and Wei Wuxian should be friends for "we have good intentions but LOOK HOW THAT GOES" and staring sadly at their lives for different but also similar reasons (with... deaths, less so on which family relationships are complicated)

I'm trying to recall where the OVA ends and brain says no, but there's a lot of good stuff to work with from everything series wise... lmf plus as is being said, Yato can meet Xie Lian and have questions about war gods
