complacency. a lack of intellectual curiosity and passive acceptance of the status quo. the general slow-walking of various innovations that have the potential to genuinely improve lives. being coddled or otherwise treated as delicate or less than capable.

WHAT SPARKS THEIR JOY:
Innovation! Technological breakthroughs! The exhilarating feeling of breaking rules for science and the betterment of society!!! fucking around and finding out!!

WHAT ARE THEY UP TO?
Mostly just trying to survive. Taking robots apart and putting them back together again. Otherwise keeping his head down and absorbing any and all magitech information that he can. Also possibly figuring out a way to not die.

On the OOC side of things I had kind of a hellish summer at work so I’ve been Pretty Absent and I’m very sorry about it. Trying to ease my way back into things now that real life is cooling off, but I’m definitely behind and greatly appreciate everyone’s patience.

CR/SCENARIOS YOU WANT:

✷ Science types. People who want to learn about science and/or can and will tolerate him going on about metaphysics. He is always ready and willing to jam with fellow nerds/engineers/tinkerers/etc.
✷ Along those lines, he can tinker stuff FOR YOU, and will probably want to make friends with people who can do things he can’t, like go out on dangerous adventures and acquire exciting resources.
✷ Viktor comes from a place not unlike Eidris/Minaras (divided, upstairs-downstairs kind of city situation), so he absolutely has some insights
✷ fellow members of the terminally ill club
✷ possibly he needs a medical intervention, or a magical one
✷ people to genuinely be friends with him and pull him out of his comfort zone, which is working until 4am and then falling asleep at his desk
✷ people to side-eye his general penchant for screwing around with unknown forces he does not understand and can’t control. it’s fine tho he knows what he’s doing
✷ people of OPPOSING PHILOSOPHIES—viktor is a pacificst/idealist and surprisingly empathetic, with lots of opinions about how the purpose of scientific advancement is to mitigate human suffering, as opposed to, like, building a death rocket and killing a bunch of people. who’s up for some RATIONAL DEBATE

I 'm here for more Viktor and Wrathion CR, they could absolutely Rational Debate. He could also link him sideways to Anduin if he ends up needing a healing bail-out though I know your intention was for Viktor to work out a way through himself.

Yes! He met Anduin to help with his Droid Problem so we can probably use that as a springboard. I'm cool with stop-gap healing methods (he probably needs them) so that sounds like a good angle to work towards?

Yes, that works! I'mmmmmm obviously not sure what chaos the new event will be, but there's lots of options beyond whatever that is -- running into each other at the little lockup Anduin keeps his weird droids in, running into each other if Viktor goes to look for Anduin for some Follow Up Droid Shenanigans, just Having A Throw Down Argument On The Network Some Time and then following it up with another one in person to be sure everyone realises how wrong they are.

River is not at all a pacifist and she does morally questionable violence and murder more than she cares for certain people (the Doctor) to know about. But at the same time, she has varying levels of patience with pacifists/idealists because the Doctor has quite a lot of hope and faith in people and wants to give everyone every opportunity before it comes to violence (and even then, the actual violence is usually left to someone who isn't the Doctor) so she's used to that. She's used to the divide, and to there needing to be people like her supporting people like him, whether he likes it or not.

She also really likes science, though she's still iffy about magic. And having died before her arrival here, she'd be a little curious why she's, apparently, alive and he's still seemingly dying. What an odd system they have.

But I do also now have Sarah Bishop, who's a witch with a specialty in healing. And she's not good with technology or science.

So he can have his pick there, I guess.
