Dragon trinkets!
Hello friends, friendly neighbourhood enchanter here. For anyone who is either on dragon tower duty, or who has a strong thirst to hurl themselves at Irenia anyway, Wrathion is going to start making trinkets so you don't all fall to miserable deaths! Dragons fly, you see, and most of you... don't! Unfortunate for you.
Ways to get involved:
- People to help provide materials! He needs some good quality gems from the mines, ones with nice traces of weird spooky magic on them. This place is full of spooky magic. What, not those gems, bring him different ones? Titans, you cannot get the staff these days. Help fetch materials! Ask him questions! demand rewards.
- Requesters! You want one? Cool. Tell him how you want it. Pendant? Bracelet? Embedded in something? Wildly complex custom design because you're difficult? Your choice.
- Helpers! You want to help him craft? Potentially you could help forge settings, sort gems, shape them, argue with him about magic, offer your own input, all sorts! Anduin will be helping make these too (Priests can cast a great levitate spell!) so you can watch him bicker with Wrathion and judge their life choices as Totally Normal Friends Who Spend All Their Free Time Together. It's tragic.
Now, the terms and conditions for takers!
- 10-12 trinkets max (if we get more I'll rng folk and then oops rest of the gems in this mine are useless, cannot mine good gems these days).
- They either last 5 bursts of 5 minutes or 1 burst of 20 minutes per day. He will provide whichever option you prefer. These gems, unfortunately, cannot sustain magic as well as Azeroth gems. Alem, alas, your gems are just rubbish. After either 5 uses of 5 minutes, or one use of 20 minutes, they need a recharge for 12 hours. No gliding around the entire day! Everyone knows a gimmick is no longer cool if you overuse it. People get bored.
- This limit also allows you, the user, to have the gem be on its 5 minute recharge or 12 hour recharge if you actually want to be splatted. I will not take the opportunity to harm your character away from you!
- They let people 'fall with style' aka glide slowly to the ground (or, dragon back!) with fancy dragon wings, but cannot fly upward with them. It's a don't die gimmick! You cannot climb to the top of a tower with this, sorry! The wings will be black dragon wings, for Absolutely No Reason Ha Ha Ha, which trail a faint golden glow from Anduin's input. You will feel very cool, and sparkle.
- It will stop you splatting but, uh-oh, be careful puny human -- Irenia will smell the dragon magic on you and be curious. Please hope she steers her massive bulk too slow to come take an active interest.
- At the end of the Alem arc, the gems will begin to fade out. Alas, Alem's gems can hold a fancy powerful spell but not for long. They will stop working entirely in the travel arc, gem dead, it's just a useless rock now. This is why nobody likes Alem! Terrible quality mining.
I will stick a sign up comment below, close of business will betentatively 5PM London time Sunday if we have more than 12 sign ups and I need to roll who gets them. Whenever we run out, I will keep taking the requests slowly until we hit the cap! If people want them to tangle with, say, harpies too and we run out of dragon fight requirements, we can probably use them for that too! Equal flying beast opportunities here.
