CHARACTER(S) & CANON(S): I play the Sith Inquisitor from Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Bioware game. They have a player-customizable name and mine goes by Archeval.
WHO THEY ARE, THE ONE-LINE ELEVATOR PITCH: Short cranky asshole who pretends to be an evil overlord for his day job but is, not-so-secretly, less evil than he looks. Your character might be likely to bump into him if they're interested in some stripe of necromancy, interacting with ghosts/the dead, or............tailoring?
THEIR TEAM FOR TARAVAST PURPOSES: Macaluso
GOT A LINK TO ANY TARAVAST PLOTS & PLANS? Not as yet, life really kicked my ass for a bit so I pulled back from RP some in the last few weeks, trying to get back in the swing.
HANDWAVERY: WHAT CAN OTHER CHARACTERS SPOT YOURS DOING ON THE DAILY? Let's see... Lurking around in a corner glaring forbiddingly in between doing some reading or research or chores... helping to keep things clean and tidy for the group... puzzling through some local text and taking notes, doing morning practice with a training sword or sometimes his lightsaber, and occasionally -- more often lately -- off somewhere quiet meditating by himself. If your character is up late at night a lot, they may have run into him as one of the few people also awake; if your character sees Eleven or Mingyu frequently they've probably met Arche too at some point -- feel free to have picked up his name and some basic facts. If your character was injured at some point they might have been directed to Arche for healing -- he has, essentially, necromancy-based healing powers which will leave you probably feeling a bit uncomfortable afterward, but they'll keep you alive.
DOES ANYTHING STAND OUT GROTESQUELY/HILARIOUSLY/WTFISHLY ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER(S)? He's older than he looks but has the stature and babyface of a teenager, he dresses in black basically all the time, and his general visual vibe probably gives off "tryhard goth edgelord" if your character is from a modern era lol. The black-core glowy neon purple laser sword probably also, uh, stands out, though he avoids waving around his lightsaber when not strictly necessary (none of the Taravast locals have seen it yet). Those characters sensitive to supernatural energy or auras or that sort of thing will definitely catch flutters here and there of something unsettling feeling about him; he's usually good at keeping a wraps on his presence in the Force, but he recently "ate" the soul of an undead warlord who's...starting to give him necromantic indigestion lol.
ICE BREAKER ROUNDS:
i. Your character is our last hope in the kitchens. Are we saved, are we doomed, is there excess spice, are you Xie Lian? Well, you won't die but you probably won't keep eating after your stomach stops growling. Whatever you get will probably be burnt and certainly either over- or under-seasoned. You will, meanwhile, definitely notice Arche eating it absolutely uncaringly, there is no such thing as bad food in his opinion if it's not literally rotting. (He has not tasted Xie Lian's cooking yet but I suspect the reaction would be "seems fine??? what's the problem" lmao.)
ii. Which awkward reddit forum is your character likeliest to end up on? Choosing Beggars/I-don't-work-here-lady/Bridezillas/MaliciousCompliance/ProRevenge/something else? He's that guy on /r/AmITheAsshole who tells every single poster to dump their boyfriend/friend/mom/5-year-old/pet cat. lmao.
THREE TYPES OF CR YOUR WANT FOR YOUR CHARACTER (BE SPECIFIC), GO:
A non-exhaustive list, I welcome a variety of different kinds of CR, but especially interested in:
1. Black comedy frenemies or rivals - they mutually annoy each other but find they can't help being begrudgingly drawn together anyway, acknowledging each other's competence, even discovering some genuine like. It's a fine line to walk but very fun.
2. People who come from some kind of fucked-up background of deprivation, poverty, slavery or the like that they could genuinely bond and relate to one another over. Arche has a soft spot for underdogs due to his own past.
3. People to be taken just a little under his wing for some occasional cranky big-brothering, mentoring, or skill teaching. He considers protecting civilians part of his job, he accidentally fell into being a teacher to some apprentices back home, and if he thinks you're doing a thing badly he has a habit of barging right in unasked to obnoxiously try to teach you how to do it the right way lol.
bonus 4. Absolutely anybody whose player is interested in Star Wars stuff of this particular era honestly!
WHAT WILL YOUR CHARACTER NEED AN EXTRA HAND WITH IN TARAVAST?
As the weeks pass, with Unhalad stuck inside him he's going to start looking more and more actively ill and will almost certainly stubbornly refuse to say a word about it to anyone. You can certainly hit him up and ask him about it, though, and either try to help somehow or... try to assist him in hiding it which will probably be his preference at first, lol.
Also in between being slowly eaten alive by undead spirits he's going to be spending a lot of time frantically poring over local history texts and maps and such with our new fancy upgraded hardware so that he can convincingly pretend to be a seasoned military strategist of the area. If he'd be useful to show up in anyone's threads to get you influence with some local politicians or scholars I'd happily throw him in, or if your character is a fellow nerd who would enjoy making friends over incredibly nerdy discussions about local military history in a library or Taravastian coffee salon or something, could be a good time.
As I've also been a complete failboat about getting back to my July tags -- if you need me somewhere that I didn't return to, if we talked about something earlier this year that you want to make sure we RP out, or generally just want to return to picking up some CR that we've started in previous months but haven't fleshed out much yet, please feel free to speak up!!!

So if you think it could be fun for Arche to try and mentor a god lmao, what sort of things did you have in mind? Arche is always happy to "introduce" himself to people by barging in on something he thinks they're in the middle of doing poorly lol. I imagine Xie Lian has most household chores well in hand, but potentially there's stuff like sewing, idk how good he is/isn't at that? Or maybe something related to studying up on the local culture? He's currently doing his best to speedrun becoming as much of a strategic expert about the local terrain and things as his Taravast persona says he's supposed to be lol... That's just what comes to mind for me, though, I'd love to hear your ideas :D

Hmmm, I think sewing is actually not one of his strong points, and of course he is a disaster at cooking if you're not trying to turn food into chemical warfare....
He's also supposed to be a dreadful pirate king and he's going to try and get into character, but he's not very good at being cold and ruthless, and of course, his bad luck means he will be losing at gambling quite a lot.
And he'll be looking to understand the locals, but of course not in as much hurry, so he'll probably commit faux pas (which will be excused on account of him being a pirate and uncivilized, ohmy).

If you ever have a want to get Arche tangled up in Hargreeves shit, I can very willingly oblige. He has some immediate issues with the mirror curse that he'll be dealing with presently, but afterwards I'm sure he might be sensitive to Arche going through a thing.
