Jiang Cheng is from Yunmeng so no there is not 'excess' spice, there is exactly as much spice as the ancestors intended. Mingyu was an Instagram minor celebrity chef before depression hit, he's actually a really good cook when he's not too busy plotting the downfall of modern society.

Jiang Cheng: God, everything. If anyone can help him pretend to be a religious figure, he will weep tears of gratitude. He could also use a friend. But he has experience up that alley both representing one of the 7 sins/being Satan and seeing all the mortals over time being all pious and religious~ They're usually the ones who are the most sinful, but they sure do like to hold that stand up on a pedestal of purity. They're on the same team so he has reason to, but he would probably be mildly amused by his failed attempts prior to offering advice.

Am I the asshole for agreeing to perform a risky, experimental surgery on my friend's brother (who has a crush on me), thus leaving my friend without his golden core and giving the brother a new golden core. We never ask him, trick him into thinking I'm an immortal, and never mention it, even when he wants to know why my friend has stopped helping him (he can't cultivate) and is going off the deep end.

Am I the asshole for putting my friend to sleep so my brother (now a fierce corpse) and I can turn ourselves in for being distant relatives of a former madman/despot and hated by all the other clans. My brother also accidentally killed the heir of the current ruling sect, who was also the husband of my friend's sister, so they're a little upset right now.

Fox spends all his spare time thinking, planning, or executing magic, and can most often be found scribbling away in his notebooks. While he is pretending to be an idiot with elevator music for thoughts, he will sit and agonize over how bored he is and try not to fidget constantly.

I fell off the wagon all last month and admittedly am feeling a little overwhelmed by all the plotting going on and keeping tract, so maybe the real question I would like to ask is can he give a hand to any of you? His role is a moody actor with popularity to get away with being a crazy bitch I guess. He's actually not that good at such a thing, but I assure you he will accomplish his mood swinging role admirably even if it means bringing Patricia out to play with him.

I also have Big Apple Poe (the magical wombat) and Patricia the cat (they somehow decided to come back to hang out with him after her new master dropped). If anyone lines animals, please come play with these two and you'll surely find Gil around them more than any people.

I'm down for anything especially since I flipped at the end of the zombie invasion thing and missed all of July. If you can hold Gilbert's hand (aka mine) to get back on track, I would be forever grateful.

Also you can assume he and Big Apple Poe were scarce last month but he's since come back partly because Patricia found him and she's might as well be a serial killer ex-wife of his if you believe what he has to say. (Patricia is the sweetest most cuddle-loving freeloading cat ever.)

I always felt Wangji and Gil have a decently chill and matchy-matchy vibe, so I am all aboard with them figuring their way around Taravast — do you want to go investigate in the shady necromancer district and probably get chased or suffer a mugging attempt in a dark alley, friend?

Alternatively, Wangji has his two chonk arctic rabbits, so they can suffer the inevitable disaster of their pets running around the palazzao at some point, probably in the awkward middle of a masquerade or ball or delicate event, because of course that's when they would.

HANDWAVERY: WHAT CAN OTHER CHARACTERS SPOT YOURS DOING ON THE DAILY? Let's see... Lurking around in a corner glaring forbiddingly in between doing some reading or research or chores... helping to keep things clean and tidy for the group... puzzling through some local text and taking notes, doing morning practice with a training sword or sometimes his lightsaber, and occasionally -- more often lately -- off somewhere quiet meditating by himself. If your character is up late at night a lot, they may have run into him as one of the few people also awake; if your character sees Eleven or Mingyu frequently they've probably met Arche too at some point -- feel free to have picked up his name and some basic facts. If your character was injured at some point they might have been directed to Arche for healing -- he has, essentially, necromancy-based healing powers which will leave you probably feeling a bit uncomfortable afterward, but they'll keep you alive.
DOES ANYTHING STAND OUT GROTESQUELY/HILARIOUSLY/WTFISHLY ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER(S)? He's older than he looks but has the stature and babyface of a teenager, he dresses in black basically all the time, and his general visual vibe probably gives off "tryhard goth edgelord" if your character is from a modern era lol. The black-core glowy neon purple laser sword probably also, uh, stands out, though he avoids waving around his lightsaber when not strictly necessary (none of the Taravast locals have seen it yet). Those characters sensitive to supernatural energy or auras or that sort of thing will definitely catch flutters here and there of something unsettling feeling about him; he's usually good at keeping a wraps on his presence in the Force, but he recently "ate" the soul of an undead warlord who's...starting to give him necromantic indigestion lol.

You will, meanwhile, definitely notice Arche eating it absolutely uncaringly, there is no such thing as bad food in his opinion if it's not literally rotting. (He has not tasted Xie Lian's cooking yet but I suspect the reaction would be "seems fine??? what's the problem" lmao.)

A non-exhaustive list, I welcome a variety of different kinds of CR, but especially interested in:

1. Black comedy frenemies or rivals - they mutually annoy each other but find they can't help being begrudgingly drawn together anyway, acknowledging each other's competence, even discovering some genuine like. It's a fine line to walk but very fun.
2. People who come from some kind of fucked-up background of deprivation, poverty, slavery or the like that they could genuinely bond and relate to one another over. Arche has a soft spot for underdogs due to his own past.
3. People to be taken just a little under his wing for some occasional cranky big-brothering, mentoring, or skill teaching. He considers protecting civilians part of his job, he accidentally fell into being a teacher to some apprentices back home, and if he thinks you're doing a thing badly he has a habit of barging right in unasked to obnoxiously try to teach you how to do it the right way lol.
bonus 4. Absolutely anybody whose player is interested in Star Wars stuff of this particular era honestly!

WHAT WILL YOUR CHARACTER NEED AN EXTRA HAND WITH IN TARAVAST?
As the weeks pass, with Unhalad stuck inside him he's going to start looking more and more actively ill and will almost certainly stubbornly refuse to say a word about it to anyone. You can certainly hit him up and ask him about it, though, and either try to help somehow or... try to assist him in hiding it which will probably be his preference at first, lol.

Also in between being slowly eaten alive by undead spirits he's going to be spending a lot of time frantically poring over local history texts and maps and such with our new fancy upgraded hardware so that he can convincingly pretend to be a seasoned military strategist of the area. If he'd be useful to show up in anyone's threads to get you influence with some local politicians or scholars I'd happily throw him in, or if your character is a fellow nerd who would enjoy making friends over incredibly nerdy discussions about local military history in a library or Taravastian coffee salon or something, could be a good time.

As I've also been a complete failboat about getting back to my July tags -- if you need me somewhere that I didn't return to, if we talked about something earlier this year that you want to make sure we RP out, or generally just want to return to picking up some CR that we've started in previous months but haven't fleshed out much yet, please feel free to speak up!!!
