I think he'd absolutely wind Jon up tbh, he likes metaphors and dramatic speech and can be a little patronising -- but we could always play into that then let Wrathion surprise him one day by turning up to have his back without a word. He ultimately does want to do the right thing so he'd help a person who needs it, especially if others he got on with better would be upset by Jon getting hurt.

If that doesn't work there's also a strong chance that they'll come to a begrudging respect on their own terms via things over time, or if Wrathion ends up upsetting Jon by doing something cataclysmically stupid he would probably feel guilty enough to try and be a normal person and fix it -- but Jon might need a strong drink to deepen his reserves of patience.
