1. let hermione be a young adult: because hp sure won't. i would love for her to develop crushes and start admiring some people from a "purely professional point of view of course" and having a whole Moment around what it means to be the smartest witch of her age but also maybe want to also be a girl?
2. let hermione be competent. she had a great run over the huntress invasion and all, she thrives under pressure and in danger and it let out her ~~wrathful~~ angry side. i would love for her to develop a cause here (s.p.e.w., anyone?) that she can use to annoy literally anyone who listens to her about.
3. let hermione be fragile. she's under the impression that she's invincible just because harry beat voldemort. she isn't i'm always down for inflicting pain within reason, though i don't necessarily want to have her die. actions have consequences, and not everyone can be friend. (also you're just 18 girl, chill.)
4. let hermione be making potions. that's it that's the category i want her to work at potions with the ingredients in taravast until she figures out healing potions, brain elixirs, pepper-up potions, etc. (maybe some veritaserum ooooohhhh.)

WHO THEY ARE, THE ONE-LINE ELEVATOR PITCH: Medieval hero-king chosen-one, with a great psychological emphasis on how much that would actually suck. Jon is a stressed out, sad, usually kindly person who is preparing his home for a series of wars that he doesn’t think he can win.
WHAT ARE THEY UP TO NOWADAYS? PLOTS THEY NEED HELP WITH? Jon is so brand new that I still owe some of you replies on his OOC intro (and, of course, the IC one!). He has no team assignment and came into town as an envoy of the Merchant, for whom he made an important delivery. Along with meeting new people, he is currently trying to figure out what’s going on with his sister Sansa, and also trying to convince Daenerys that the future of humanity depends on her helping him back home. There’s a pretty good chance of him being willing to help with something if he thinks the goal is worthy and if he’s able to.

If it’s canon, by the power of deus ex machina and plot armor (someone probably gives it to him because he’s Ned Stark’s Son).

If it’s me writing it… he’s a brick wall working his way gently through the crowd, and then maybe not so gently. He’ll break up fights and be mildly exasperated, but if someone hits him, he gets surprisingly feral fast.

The real answer is that he’s no longer the kind of person you send into a situation where he would have to put himself first over something petty.

Jon just looks miserable. Occasionally he gives whoever is caring for the baby a weak smile that’s meant to be reassuring, but doesn’t reach his eyes and is maybe also a little regretful. It’s not their fault the baby is crying, babes do cry, he remembers how all of his younger siblings used to weep and wail… only, the journey has been hard, and he wishes there was even a moment of peace to be found.

He genuinely tries to be patient, though. You don’t assert dominance over a baby for doing baby things!

Do I go with the obvious “it’s good quality but he takes it black” (Jon is largely pretty minimalist but did grow up in a rich family, and there’s a Night’s Watch joke here) or do I go with what we know about his tastes, which suggests he might actually like something sweeter?

If not a plain black coffee, he’d probably like the cold brew with cascara cold foam.

1. In some ways, Taravast is kind of her training wheel. Anything that she can learn to help her later navigate the Seven Circles would be much appreciated tbqh. People to work alongside, whether they do so well or not.
2. People she can feed. She's had (limited) kitchen access and befriended the staff.
3. Maybe someone she can finally talk to about Vittoria, but it's tough because she's so private and not fully acknowledging her grief. Taravast makes that easy when so much is happening all the time, and she's a very decisive/hands-on person who likes to keep moving so she doesn't have to process. It would be a slow burn/need to happen organically if it does.

Third--sneaky engineering and magitek stuff! Slick might not be all that magical himself, but he's resourceful, and has pretty consistently come up with ideas that can help people out.

Five had a rocky October, but things are shockingly not end-the-world bad right now. After breaking the mirror holding Anurr's power, bringing minor doom to Taravast, and losing his sanity for a minute, he ended up getting a nice ego boost when people asked for his help. Currently helping(!) Eleven and Shen Qingqiu escape certain death, and he teleported a drugged up kid from Bonaccorso's weird employment with the Doctor and Slick. He also will be making a stop in Sa-Hareth and maybe pretend to be an air bender idk. It's a whole thing with a zombie finger. (In the meantime Mingyu straightened his memories out, and he got a way to suck out some of the anguish he absorbed from his curse via mirror shards. He's doing Great and was right all along.) Probably needs an intervention at some point...

Marcos is having a great time. He was triggered by the idea that they'll start going after magic-users (because to him that's just another word for mutants, sorry guys.) He's focusing on what he knows, and that's helping shelter refugees, so... he's Trying. He's still pretty new to this whole thing, but he's starting to realize they need to get organized and will be pushing for that. Also he's hoping to use his influence with the Attaryl witches to overhear any major shifts in plans, because he fully expects things to escalate.

WHO THEY ARE, THE ONE-LINE ELEVATOR PITCH: Blind ancient fantasy Chinese wizard who got a little too involved with a guy he turned in for mass murder.

Besides being at least perpetually and marginally depressed, Xingchen is playing detective to the best of his abilities when it comes to the creepy maid situation in the Doxe's palace. He's gotten one maid transferred to the kitchens and hopefully she won't get killed, but if anyone wants to sneak on down there and help him figure out why things have a rancid vibe, that'd be dope. Also point out there may be people ashes in the breadmaker because he sure as heck can't see that.

1. A therapist. He's doing.......okay right now, but, like, he still could use some actual help with the brain stuff because he doesn't particularly like himself for multiple reasons.
2. Just...more friends??? Xingchen's easy to get along with and he'll happily share a snack with you or tell you the beginning of really corny jokes (just the beginning, though) or assure you that you look really nice, probably.
3. Someone to take advantage of him, like even in small ways. Like, listen, his bad guy friend quotient is taken up by Xue Yang and he's already going to make too many mistakes in that arena, but he also only has two brain cells to rub together on a really good day, so like. Go bananas if you're AN AWFUL PERSON WITH NO SOUL. Or something.

He's a cultivator and he has a very fancy sword, so if you have ghost problems or zombie problems (okay we all have zombie problems around here) it's literally his job to deal with that shit. He's kind of on weird terms with his sword right now because of personal problems, but it's fine, he's fine. Otherwise, he's good for being a nice older brother kind of character (his advice may not always be sound, but just don't ask him for advice when he's Goin Thru It and you should be fine) and listening to problems and, as said above, enabling in innocent ways. He's sure you look great today. Your voice is really nice, so you're definitely cool.

Now that she’s gotten her strength back you can find her lending her magic to repairing Taravast, usually in the company of Hermione Granger, because she doesn’t have 20,000 gold but she does have a bit of a soft spot for Lady Vannozza. Later this month she will be rescuing Shen Qingqiu and Eleven from certain death, and then probably drinking lots of tea while stress-crying in private as she goes full doomsday prepper and starts getting supplies for the group together in the last box she’s got with the Extension Charm on it in case everyone needs to get out of Dodge. She's not having a good month.

Zuko: After getting well and truly disgusted with the lack of honor in Taravast’s upper echelons and anonymously reminding the people who their enemies are via the piazza Zuko can be found training in the early mornings, before spending his days hovering protectively around Aang or Alayne aka Sansa. There’s also a tea shop he took a bit of a shine to before the invasion that he lends some afternoons to, helping with repairs and serving tea (I named it the Steamy Weevil, fight me). • People who can broaden his skillset. Right now, a lot of what he's capable of requires the tech level to be closer to present day, and he's really feeling it and feeling useless as a result. He's a quick learner, when something holds his attention, though, so -- teach him how to blacksmith. Teach him magic. Teach him how to fight better than just swinging wildly and hoping the other person goes down. And so on!
