She might be able to put two and two together from his network conversations so far (especially with Dany, if she stalked that) that he’s not in the Night’s Watch anymore, which shouldn’t be possible because of the lifetime commitment. If she doesn’t put it together from that, it should still eventually be implicit in this current conversation (maybe not quite yet, though) - because he absolutely couldn’t be LC and king of anything at the same time, because it’s a violation of the vows. (Everyone knows the vows, but not everyone takes them seriously.) So it’d be reasonable for her to have Questions. News of Jon’s untimely-yet-temporary demise definitely hasn’t spread in the books themselves yet. (And it’s true… this canon is A Lot. I think you’re doing well, though!)
That thing about “Others” being a generic term is exactly what I meant about its capacity to confuse viewers. GMTA!
Anyway, he’s duty-bound to Big Bro at her, but she can set the parameters of the bro-ing: when they reunite, it’s pretty clear he’s more interested in supporting her than controlling her. But he does have her back for sure. I’m interested to see where this goes, because they can be a formidable team when their goals align and they’re communicating well.
It's true that given how much he covered in what little he spoke of with Dany in public, she could piece it together, but I'm going to play it in that her immediate assumption that he was just stating a baldface lie in order to gain some kind of upper-hand in a strange land (who wouldn't want to be king instead of being leashed to the night's watch?). It's such a grand statement that it wouldn't even occur to her that it could be true; the progression just wouldn't make sense from her POV. She's just too happy to see him to be mad about him lying like that...for now. He'll start getting hounded with questions once she's done making it all about herself (she's too good at that still).
Also I am 3000% in for them becoming close siblings finally, although it will be so difficult even for him to get close to her. He definitely has a head start on everyone else, though! I agree that with their powers combined, they are nigh unstoppable.
(The stuff he’s saying to Dany… honestly, it’s so impossible that it makes sense to go with something like “I guess he just has to lie too sometimes,” and more interesting for the truth to come out gradually.)
Pretty much! She's surprised Jon got so good at lying, but who knew what the Night's Watch taught him! He goes too large, though, gotta make the lies more lowkey, bro. Father is rolling in his grave.
But honestly, everything that's happened to him will make her soul leave her body more than once when she learns of it. Dying and resurrection? When did you become a magic man, Jon Snow? Where are her magic powers gdi?
