interlude: ellethia
Goodbye & farewell to Taravast, as the party heads into the mysterious, if sadly downtrodden Ellethia. Our latest log has gone up to cover 3-17 January, and you can make your individual plotting comments or ask questions here!

2. Ah. Hmmm. I was going to ask if they are the apex predator, so this answers that...
2.1. Would a whale called closer be subject to the same dawn-nightfall cycle of life and death? If not, would calling one by night make a difference to whether it might survive?
2.2. Are the mermaids covering the entire area between the shore and the lighthouse?
3. And thank you for this, too!

2. I think a huge killer whale could definitely take a small number of mermaids, just not as a pack. I'd side with the whale against up to four mermaids, but when you've got ten+ of them... maybe if the whale beats them with its tail?
I'm trying to think what would be more helpful to you here, a whale, an octopus or a shark. I think it's the killer whale, personally, but. The mermaids aren't posted 100% of the time, but they're prowling the coastline. They're waiting for scraps.
The fish should be fine and not suffer the accelerate life/death cycle, as long as it keeps away from the coast.

Oh and he'll try to climb up somewhere high before attempting to talk with them, he's... learned about the local wildlife.
