If Yen was irritated enough by the whole situation and tried to portal off one of the boats, how would that go for her? Is magic even possible on the boats?

Cause you know she'll try.

Remind me again — she doesn't need to have previously seen or been to the areas she teleports to, right? Her pre-existing knowledge of an area isn't a limitation, right?

That's right, though there could be an argument made that if she ends up somewhere random, it's because she simply wants to leave where she is quick. Kind of a stop-over until she can focus on a specific destination.

Okay - it sounds as if she's not unlike Five Hargreeves, who has a teleportation through time/space ability. Generally, our understanding there has been that the ability can be retained, just try not to overuse it / maybe say it glitches or exhausts her to use extensively.

In this situation, if you want her to portal, I can offer you:

Portalling to another boat: Yennefer is everyone's favourite cuddly travel buddy

Portalling into water: Yennefer is everyone's favourite keto mermaid snack

Portalling onto Ellethia land: Yennefer can never be voted off Love Island

Portalling back in Taravast: ...Yennefer can curse her life, because she has to start the trip all over again

..... I love it. All of it. I'm also reminded that portal travel is not exactly fun or easy on the stomach.

That said, her temper tantrum is going to put her in a couple of places before I put her right back where she should be. That'll teach her.

One more question!

In regards to the calcar that heals her up while in the water and which is bountiful on Ellethia. Does it have the same healing effects? If so, can it be held instead of wearing the fashionable red suit and prevent the ailments that happen after 15 minutes of not wearing it?

That's basically a piece of Ellethia. It's too small to do the decay aspect of the decay-rebirth cycle human and animal beings experience when exposed to Ellethia. Plus... Yennefer's already got the decay in her, when the calcar needs to act.

So it can't keep Yennefer safe once she's in Ellethia. If anything, she shouldn't hold it close to skin then.

No problem! She can keep it during her boat travels, though, could keep handy.

And if she wizens up to what it is, might as well tell the other hooligans to chop some rock for the second leg of the boat journey.

I'm going to put her through some torture with some portal travel sickness, but once she gets onto land I'll have her grab some more and tell others about it, too!
