CHARACTER(S) & CANON(S): John Connor, The Sarah Connor Chronicles WHO THEY ARE, THE ONE-LINE ELEVATOR PITCH: The chosen one, destined to save the human race from certain extinction, by leading their rebellion against sentient machines in the future. ICE BREAKER ROUNDS: i. What skills does your character urgently need to pick up? How to cook! Plus he could use a rundown on how to take down local monsters, and magic lore. Right now his default is trap it or shoot it, and he has a limited number of bullets.
ii. Do the ends justify the means for them? Despite having his future mapped out for him: no, absolutely not. Morality is fiercely important to John. For him, it's what makes someone human, what makes a human stand apart from a sentient machine. He absolutely won't take a life unless he has to, and he has some trauma over having to do that once before.
iii. What would they do to everyone's favourite red gear, given five minutes and a dark alley? Clean it, probably.
CR THAT WOULD DRIVE THEM UP A WALL, BUT YOU WANT ANYWAY: CR with an artificial intelligence of some kind. CR THAT WOULD BRING OUT THEIR MOST SPARKLING SELVES: Honestly it's pretty hard to get John talking about anything personal, so at this point it's hard to say. He'll need to trust people pretty intensely before he really lets them in.
WHAT DOES YOUR CHARACTER BRING TO THE TABLE?? He's a strategist, and his fighting skills are pretty top notch - he has a lot of training, he's an expert marksman, and he has great survival skills, which are likely to come out while the group's on the road.
I still contend that John will be very fun to bounce both of my guys at. Marcos in particular will appreciate his strategic thinking and he'll treat him with proper respect. Just feels like they are on the same page. He won't pry about his backstory unless it's offered, but he picks up on vibes.
And of course Five has low expectations of everyone, but he'll tell it like it is if he needs someone to.
I do think he and Marcos will have a lot in common, even just personality-wise, honestly. Also, John speaks fluent Spanish, so like if they ever need to have secret conversations no one else could understand...
I think so too! And John might be the only other person who speaks Spanish. (Lorna might have picked up some, but she definitely doesn't hold conversations.) Marcos doesn't use it often, but I'm sure they could have a moment after he's like... praying, because that's usually when you'll hear it most... when he could say something in Spanish so Marcos can be impressed.
Also his best friend was named John, so he might get a John-bias in his favor.
