Hey! Re: memories — it would be fumbled. Let's say his close CR is now "native," and he thinks he only moved in years ago — he might know with certainty that he's very close to America, native fishergirl, but he would have a diffuse sense of how they met, or the bonds that tie them. He'd know they're fiercely connected, as would she, but he might struggle to remember how. The memory situation is temporary and progressively waning (think, over between a few days to two weeks at most), so it shouldn't outright impact your CR. It's more a case of, 'this is how the natives would perceive you' and also a blood-curdling, 'this is how this place can mess with you. It's down to how much trauma you want to shove his way consequently.
