And are you used to dealing with a lot of people breaking and entering in you house?

Are we counting both dead and alive? Or only the living?

The living - it's not as if ghosts are going to steal your possessions. What use have they got for things, you know?

Well they may not steal things, but the ghosts have the nearly one hundred percent murder rate if they get in your house.

Of the two, I'd rather have to deal with filing a B&E report, than being dead.

Huh - we must be familiar with different ghosts.

I'm finding that to be the case, with most people I meet here.

So yes, short version, the dead having been rising and visiting the living for about five decades, and if a ghost touches a living person, it kills. The death count in England alone is close to two million.

I am making a lot of assumptions here, mind you, but something tells me we are from two completely different Englands. All my ghosts do is annoy students at a boarding school.

I think it's a safe assumption, and I envy you.

I envy you the ghosts that do little more than annoy, but not the boarding school. That sounds dreadful. [ Someone likes his freedom, and is making assumptions of his own now. ]

Oh good lord, I don't read unless I absolutely have to. George, on the other hand, would be lost for months. We'd have to leave packets of biscuits, granola and water laying about or he'd starve.

Actually, that's my work overcoat. It's designed to be a little large because it has to hold and cover my kit. It's not easy to tuck a rapier, salt bombs, magnesium flares, a torch, thermometer, and Greek fire in a Saville Row pocket!

I know a guy — New York, ( not saville row ), very good at fitting to precise needs and means.

Crescent darts. Truncheon. Etcetera.

( "etcetera" he says, but there isn't really anything else. )

He has specific days depending on which way your needs fall.

I find the idea of play to be overrated. [ Having time to 'play' means down time. Down time means time to think. Lockwood tries to avoid that at all costs. ]

Ah. I'd think the shape would make targeting a challenge, unless you throw on a horizontal?

That depends on the what, in my experience. Sometimes the two align. ( or — marc agrees, actually. he tries to avoid being 'marc spector' as much as he possibly can. )

I can manage a good pitch with a salt bomb, but prefer to keep my hand on any bladed weapon.

I've found few can go wrong with fists.

A baseball bat's a good second.

Fists and baseball bats go through ghosts without harming them.

Also, touching a ghost is instant death, so I'll stick with the salt bombs and the rapier.

And what's death to someone that's already dead?

My friends tend to get upset when I try to make that argument.
