Hi, everyone! Two parts to today’s party:

JUNE JAZZ

Check out our latest plot roll & NPC thread options for June, for which you’ll receive full details on Wednesday, 22 June. You can sign up your characters for the quest of your choice until 18:00 GMT on 21 June.

■ We’ll need at least two characters signed up for a roll to carry it out. Quests that receive more than five sign-ups may need us to RNG a character who gets final call on any decision-making within the quest.

■ Try to be available to play things out with your quest-mates between 22 June – 5 July.

■ If you’re looking short on time in that period, it might be easier to offer support to characters who are leading a plot roll, without signing up.

■ Please share the information you get with the group at large through network posts.

As a heads-up for folks who’ve never done one of these — you may get offered follow-up quests, items or plot development because you helped out with a plot roll. You can always opt out of that.

WHAT’S THE EASIEST WAY TO…
...IRRITATE THEM: not use a drink coaster. it's been around since 1880! pls, hoomans!

WHAT SHIP DO THEY MOSTLY HANG OUT ON? adventuring between Queen Zanyra and the Pariah. he's a curious cat.

WHAT ARE THEY UP TO? Damon's newly arrived. He'll make himself useful; cleaning up the docks and even helping with getting the food prepared. Where there's drinking and merriment, he's guaranteed to be there.

CR/SCENARIOS YOU WANT: He's looking to get to know the people onboard and get a feel for who he might be able to trust. He'll probably end up snacking on a few pirates, but he'll be doing this very discreetly. I'd love for someone to eventually find out he's a vampire (maybe through some unfortunate incident), but only if they can keep a secret. Possibly a moment where Damon's like, okay, he's gonna have to kill this person (note: his compulsion/mind control won't work too well in-game because he's feeding less), but decides against it because there's -- trust! Even if through events he might reveal his speed or strength, he definitely won't be mentioning the word vampire. On the other hand, if there's anyone here who can sense things like that and just know what he is at first meet, I'd love to chat!

i'd say it's obligatory werewolf + vampire cr, but realistically while this guy is functionally a werewolf, it's a very different beast (hah) from the vampire diaries

regardless as two new guys on the fast track to the east (or the fast track to surviving piracy on the haunted seas and then off to dragon riding clockwork cities) i'd definitely love to toss them at each other and see where things shake out!

(also, he has no idea what a coaster is)

Hey, rakel! Sorry for the delayed response. I was reading your app for Licyn! Very cool oc, btw. I'm guessing because of the scar on his back, Licyn will be able to sense that Damon's not a regular ol' human, which is completely fine with me -- since vampires are a product of magic in TVD!land. Probably not be able to guess that he's a vampire, but that he's different? Would that be right?

I think it's so cool that if Licyn turns into a werewolf, he's bigger than the ones in TVD. Damon can't sense creatures types -- totally useless like that. He definitely wouldn't know Licyn's a werewolf unless it's revealed to him, so it'll be interesting to have these two meet and see where the cr goes.

re his scar and sensitivities, yes! damon is way too intelligent to be the kind of magical construct licyn is particularly wary of, but he'll detect he's Not Human, and not know anything beyond that he's some kind of magic linked being. unless there's any time where damon's energies read as very dark/threatening, it'll be a dull ache versus a sharp one.

magic detection scars, zero people actually want them or the nausea, probably!

hahaha he highly recommends petting the very large wolf, 11/10 it's a great experience!

I'll also get a log up for him once i see how plot rolls fall, but yes, his ic inbox is always open for encounters! or his open post, whichever is preferred

He's still normal, though if he feels threatened his response is tooth and claw if running isn't an option! So in that sense, can be more feral, but being in wolf or man form doesn't influence his persona... okay when a wolf he is more shameless seeking physical contact, so laughs, he ups the "look at me acting like a doggie" in wolf form.

Hi, Cella! Thanks for the welcome! I am so excited to see a Hermione Granger in this game. She's my absolute favorite witch! I defo miss reading the Harry Potter books. Would absolutely love for these two to meet. Teach Damon how to say wingardium leviosa, pls. :3

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for an opportunity for these two to interact. Or let me know if you're planning on tossing Hermione to the current event log.

I'm not even going to lie, I want Wangji to acquaint Damon, completely not realise his sharp-toothed proclivities for weeks/months, and then just Pikachu-face whenever inevitably Damon has to come clean to the group for whatever reason. Few people do GASP, BETRAYAL better than Wangji.

Hello, Ruxi! Super canon blind, but I keep seeing The Untamed on my Netflix. One of these days immma have to check this show out. :3 The costumes and characters look so pretty.

Yes, please come and be pals with Damon. Even though he likes to proclaim very loudly that he doesn't need anyone or anything, it's a total lie. A vamp can always use a pal or two to help hide the dead bodies, rite? c: In all seriousness, I heart the idea of them being friends and then Wangji finding out later that Damon's been keeping a major secret from him. Will they continue to be friends or won't they? :# Guess we'll have to stay tuned to find out.

Yoooooooooooooooooo. I'm right there with you on the canon blindness, although funnily enough, one of my friends loves Klaus, and based off everything I've understood, early-series Damon and he share a Number [TM] of commonalities.

Let us try this slow-burn friendship that ends in betrayal, if the stars of their temperaments align, how can this go wrong.

Right here, bud! Magnus Bane! I've sadly only watched a few clips here and there of Shadowhunters and completely missed out on the movie, but he's always struck me as being this super cool character.

These two seem like they might just get along well. Looking forward to having them interact. I'm still trying to decide if I'll post Damon to the current event log or wait a bit and do a log post later in the week/weekend. Either way, I can write you a starter if you'd like.

I was very excited to see Damon floating around the TDM and I'm so thrilled you brought him here. I haven't bounced anyone off him yet, so I'd love to find an excuse!

Marcos is the obviously easier one to get along with. He's also a mutant who bleeds sunshine and I've never gotten to use this with a vampire before. (Not literally sunshine, but his blood is superheated and glows. It's pretty.) Just! As an aside.

Of course Five is available and I have no idea how that would go, but you know. These are the options I have available.

I'm canonblind, but I've had interactions with this character in another game with another character of mine in the past and he seemed interesting. Bleeding sunshine... so if Damon chews on him, it's like extra warm, glowy blood? Is that going to taste extra nice or just burn his insides, I wonder. It'd be cool to see if these two can turn out to be bros.

Five! My favorite old dude. I need to catch up on the latest season of the UA. I'll definitely find a way to have Damon interact with Five too because they're both old, but don't look it. Although, Five is defo more mature than this dummy.

So Xie Lina has donated blood to a few vampires before... and the thing is, he's actually a god, so his blood gets them reaaaaaaaaaaal fucked up, if that's ever a thing you wanna try out. like super drunk/high and stuff.

well, the last vampire he fed actually tried to sneak up on him while he was sleeping, and then was surprised he got found out because being a God, Xie Lian can tell whether people are dead or alive or not quite human. and then Xie Lian just offered blood, so he'd probably do it again. he also didn't tell anyone because he didn't have a reason too, so Damon is probably fine
