PLOT ROLLS | JUNE
Hello, hello! The latest plot rolls are now live, linked below. They cover events between 22 June and 5 July.
As a reminder: everyone can participate, even if you didn't sign up. The recommendation is to choose one plot roll, to avoid getting overwhelmed — but no one's the boss of you.
You can make your own network posts, or play things out in the logs linked below.
NPC threads have been allocated, but threads will go up within the next few hours — you'll receive a relevant link at the time.
Feel free to use this post for all your plotting needs.
- ■ THE SUNKEN | LOG | Questions | Plotting
■ THE DISSENT | LOG | Questions | Plotting
■ THE CONCORD | LOG | Questions | Plotting
■ THE PRIESTS | LOG | Questions | Plotting
While much of the events overlap in terms of timeline, loosely you are looking at: the Sunken (towards the edges of the Crossing), the Concord, then the Priests (as the ships deepen their journey into the Crossing). The Dissent takes place more broadly throughout.
QUESTIONS
Sebastian never saw this coming.

You can definitely loot whatever you want, just pay mind to the boat.......... collapsing in... especially if you go for a window. But you could maybe aim for a mirror?
The same kind of magic pulsing through the coral is strongest towards the root, but you'd have to go deep, deep, deep, deep down another few hours — risk business!

I think he'd most likely try to loot a mirror if only because of the history of mirrors, and Five still suffering from a cursed mirror inside of himself >>" If he sensed one had any magical properties, he'd grab that, but otherwise he might just grab any mirror to look at more closely above deck. Caveat, he'd be careful as he's not going to get cursed again, tyvm.
And I think he'd definitely want to go deep down given he can teleport back up/can't die of drowning. I think he'd probably not worry about that on a first trip, but take a second trip to go further down. Gonna communicate that to another character within the group, but wouldn't want anyone else taking that risk if they didn't have some kind of water breathing ability (putting out a plot comment to see if anyone else could survive that kind of trip, but otherwise Wrath would go solo). Mortals are fragile.

Sounds good, let me know how that works / when you need info!

AND I THINK that no one else can survive the trip down really so he'd just go down the rest of the way on his own, but please let me know what (if anything) he'd find below. Thanks for going down part way w/ him Wangji!

Right you are! As he goes down, Wrath will find the water increasingly darker, well beyond what he might naturally expect from the bottom of the sea — there is also a swirling, wisp of pure cold black that is either surrounding the root of the growing coral, or might be what gave birth to the plant. It becomes denser, colder and prone to reducing Wrath to listlessness the longer he stays in its proximity. Notably, no living creatures seem to survive around it.
If he does make it all the way down to the bottom of the sea, he'll find the black water seems to be emerging from an ground fissure. There are many mounds of tattered clothing and some bones — clearly, either the black water or some other kind of creature at some point lured the sailors that reached the Crossing in, towards it, leaving behind... nearly nothing. Among the remains are a few perfectly preserved 'bodies' that are nearly weightless: as if something cored them out from within, leaving behind only their suits of their outward appearance.
I'd say, check in with Jon Snow's player, if maybe Wrath and Jon Snow could happen to talk about the black water. Jon suffered a particular incident in Ellethia that might help shed some light on the likely nature of the black water and what it wants.

Is this about the time Jon got dragged into the mirror back in Ellethia? Five told Wrath about the incident annnd I remember Jon shared information about what happened to him when he got sucked into it at the study group put up around that time. That could be why Wrath thinks to reach out to Jon about it if he sees the two are related

.................guys, they're just cored perfectly from the inside, don't make this weird :(

That said, seeing him come back with a mirror is going to freak the little guy, so enjoy that!

LISTEN he will be careful about it, wrapping it up in some protective cloth and not handling it with his bare hands. Just to see if anything can be learned from it. Mirrors. :|
