In fairness, I only learned I'd been married twice in Taravast, and married the same fool a third time before we tried that beacon and gateway. Our time since has been rather fraught.

How does one become accidentally married?

By having someone use their family's marriage rites without telling you what's happened, and failing to explain it anytime after.

It's the difficulty that Lily and Eleven faced when they joined hands, and still went through the gateway we last opened.

When you open your heart, you accept the pain that comes too. You have more than enough people to practise with here. Maybe even including in a romantic sense, ah? And in every other one too.

( one can mourn a loss, even when he does not know Lily's ending the way that Hermione does. he misses the two of them, young adults still as children to him from his point of view. gone away now, in the way of most things, but not forgotten. )
