[ She was afraid of what they would do. Five believes her when she says she thinks they would have died if she hadn't, but it's still hard to separate his feelings on this very specific subject. She's earned... some understanding, and he tries to remember that her parents aren't him. Who did it to him wasn't trying to save his life.

She's also very young, and he doesn't know how long ago that was. It's hard to imagine some childhoods aren't met with constant threats, but he's a reminder that it could always be worse. ]
