he didn't bounce off the clouds on purpose it just.... happened, sort of. with his luck and all.

(I don't think they mentioned it in the donghua because we don't see him actually remove his clothing to change into the wedding robes, but in the novel he's all bandaged up and he tells Mu Qing and Feng Xin it's because of that).
