- this hair? shedding so much, the bathroom drains will never recover; she diligently picks up after herself, but you might find her hair in places anyway

I slept very little last night, someone let a wolf into the house. An actual wolf. Granted it wasn't mauling anyone but I got distracted just looking at it through the night - did you see it?

Can say I saw no such thing, but what about it worries you? If it's here, it can't be hunting anyone, no wolf works that way. Maybe it's just cold? Watching the house? Bored because no giant rodents have tried to take the pantry recently?

Well I didn't know that the first time, did I? So I stayed awake - until it went to sleep somewhere else.

It was a pretty wolf, too. Didn't look hungry for pantry rats.

You could have asked for help from anyone at the time, why wait until nothing continued happening?

Why would I ask for help? Diego had wolves in the house with us, I'm used to it.

You know, the glyphs are cool and all, but it's something else to just... wave your finger and make things happen.

I've always liked runes, myself. Wards - developing wards, changing wards. Spontaneous bits of domestic magic is great, but I know wizards who won't even tie their shoelaces without a spell.

Hey, shoelacing spells are great! Don't knock the stuff that makes daily life easier. But I guess you'll see that when you're older.

Wards are pretty handy, though.

I wouldn't count on it - I grew up in a non-magical family, remember? We brush out teeth and tie our shoelaces by hand.

But with Apparition, I at least never have to learn to drive a car.

Oh, those death traps? I kinda wanted to learn to drive one back in the day, but I prefer my staff.

[ She grabs her staff out of her hair. Owlbert comes alive and sits on her shoulder, cuddling up to her. She gives him some gentle scritchies with her fingernail and smiles. ]
