Dusty, crammed, stale — you've hit the real estate jackpot with your recent abode. And you're even #blessed with roommates.
- o1. Post a top level with some of your character's quirky, funny, sad or standout domestic habits everyone can enjoy. ( "That fourth lizard tail's a bit awkward." "They're always stealing everyone's fancy conditioner." "That guy, watching you sleep." )
o2. Tag around with your character's IC reactions: questions, passive aggressive post-its, gentle encouragements to stop watering that plant, wholesome suggestions, etc.
o3. Threads can stay game canon — break the ice on some new CR. Why not?

Bugger, I forgot about that. [She pushes the notepad away, and uncrosses her legs, and gets out of bed to get the mug off the floor.
Eyes meet wolf eyes. Definitely a wolf.] Don't tell anyone that I swear now.
no subject
tell who what? it's something that might be worth teasing her with later, but he can't say he's inspired to say, look! a human who now swears!
he drops his head a touch, stretching out his neck towards her. look, he's such a good wolf. plays fetch and everything. are the same time, he takes a quiet step forward, setting his paw down delicately you dampen the click of his nails. )

Either it's witchy stuff, or she will blame Diego's Graces.
When the good boy doesn't leave the room but looks up at her expectantly, she mimics the stance unwittingly; head tilting the same way.]
Do you...want pets?
no subject
another half wag of his tail, another quiet step forward.
offer accepted, appreciate the nature of my fur. very pleasant underhand! )

So she sits down on the floor without further preamble, and runs her hand down the wolfs head and down his back.] There's a good boy. How's this?
[She scritches behind one ear, testing. All the while aware that if the wolf bit her, she'd have potions for it. And her wand is tucked behind her ear, so defense is never far from reach. Not that he will.]
no subject
... collapses into her lap like it's a fainting couch. yes, continue the grooming, thank you, it's wonderful! )
no subject
Okay, well, since you like it...
[she doesn't dare to go further than petting his back, practically combing long fur with her fingers, at the start. Eventually though, she goes back to a scritch behind his ear. Then, someone's suggestion at the back of her mind, a scritch under the jaw.]

he huffs out a canine laugh, the silent lolling tongue and crinkled eye as he waits until she figures out she can just shove him off. until then, he's enjoying the casual contact, even tipping his head back and giving her easier access to his throat when she pulls out the jaw scratching.
here's a wolf never concerned with dominance dynamics in his life. his tail lifts and thumps down against the floor exactly once, the equivalent to either "good girl" or "yeah, repeat that please." maybe both at once. )

You know how there's research out there that letting dogs is good for one's anxiety? Same for wolves, apparently, since she gets in the zone for a bit and just enjoys the repetitive motions.
Until she hears the tail thump, and lets out a startled laugh.] Oh, is that how it is?
[She does it again, really scratches an itch, and with an amused huff, brings her other hand up to get the other side too. Maybe pinches his jowls together a little. Scrunches her nose. Cute stuff.] You lush.
no subject
so all the pinching at his jowls earns an uplifted nose to look her in the face, then let his tail repeat the heavy, singular wag-thump. it's soothing for him. why else would he even let some of the children do this? it's not for the reward of tail tugs and ear pulls. )

He has intelligent eyes, this wolf, she can't help but notice. They look knowing. It probably means nothing, but she whispers secretly,] Thank you for this.
no subject
you do like gingers, right? not that a red wolf looks particularly ginger, but there you go, hermione. a wolf in your bed. )
no subject
Thankfully not on the notepad but close.]
Well I guess that answers my question of whether you have a space in this place. Huh.
[She comes to stand at the side of the bed, hands on her hips, just watches him. Taps her foot. Deliberates.
Crookshanks used to do this. She should know by now that judgement will not work.
She sighs, and shoos him, crawling up in the spot near the pillow.]
You have no right being such a large - oof - let me just.
[When she does settle, she picks up the notebook and realises that it's late and, honestly, the brain for studying is not awake right now. She looks at the croissant of a wolf and sigh.]
Fine, you can stay, but let me lie down. I want to sleep too.
no subject
Woo?
( content yet, love? good, it's a great time to sleep! )
no subject
She grumbles, and wriggles down under the blankets, muttering under her breath:] Woo yourself.
[Still, she curls up on her side, facing the beast, and reaching out to pet behind his ears and head until she falls into a deep sleep.]
