Sound the drums, head on to war — seized citadel Alem has already been there for the lion's share of a year.

Under the Scavengers' guidance, the four sand worms the party captured gently graze underground corridors allowing the group to reach halfway up Mount Attevar. From there, they quickly infiltrate Alem through a bustling trade route.

Young King Deimar strikes a simple bargain: serve Alem in its bitter last days until inevitable downfall, and the citadel will grant access to its Beacon before the final evacuation is completed.

Sounds simple enough. Now, survive it.

Characters arrive today, with our first proper taste of event chaos due on 27-28 January. Get your character settled in, check out the setting and their assignment, and strike some CR:

How old are Deimar and Haiva? I'm assuming actually adults as it hasn't otherwise been stated, like, Cle-florens. But honestly Deimar looks baby-faced, and Stephanivien is very familiar with just-adult-enough when it come to nobility and battlefields.

Cassian can talk and charm his way out of all sorts of trouble and is used to dealing with “characters of ill repute”. He also has a pretty lethal survival instinct and won’t hesitate to kill someone else to survive, even if it causes more problems than it solves later (Woops). He’s also very good with tech - mostly because he steals a lot of it.

✷ He is SUPPOSED to be planning escape routes, he’ll probably be doing some of that but also he’d be interested in bolstering defenses via technological or maybe magical means.
✷ he has access to a forge which he will turn into a workshop in short order and probably use that to make all manner of home alone-style zombie traps
✷ he’ll fix whatever you broke just bring it here
✷ being a general liability, given the situation. Sorry in advance to his chaperones.
✷ building his evil polyhedron on the DL maybe and blasting himself with arcane magics
✷ probably he’s going to be having very bad time

WHAT THEY CAN OFFER:
Tinkering abilities! Smarts! Knowledge of both magic and science and how to combine the two! Maybe that will be useful!

CR YOU WANT:

✷ Science types. People who want to learn about science and/or can and will tolerate him going on about metaphysics. He is always ready and willing to jam with fellow nerds/engineers/tinkerers/etc.
✷ Along those lines, he can tinker stuff FOR YOU, and will probably want to make friends with people who can do things he can’t, like go out on dangerous adventures and acquire exciting resources.
✷ possibly he needs a medical intervention, or a magical one

Given the similarities between the Crown Prince and a certain someone we know, does this make Wrathion feel any more/less invested in Haiva’s well-being? Seeing as how it’s not looking very good for him and very bad things are VERY LIKELY to be happening, it would seem…

ALSO I support the idea of Wrathion taking a leap off the edge, although as we know Anduin will definitely have his own Opinions on this

They've had situations where their necromancers/previously dead people were called to the Dark Side, and the only thing that worked as far as Lan Wangji saw was physically fettering them to avoid them leaving and waiting out the summons.
