Sound the drums, head on to war — seized citadel Alem has already been there for the lion's share of a year.

Under the Scavengers' guidance, the four sand worms the party captured gently graze underground corridors allowing the group to reach halfway up Mount Attevar. From there, they quickly infiltrate Alem through a bustling trade route.

Young King Deimar strikes a simple bargain: serve Alem in its bitter last days until inevitable downfall, and the citadel will grant access to its Beacon before the final evacuation is completed.

Sounds simple enough. Now, survive it.

Characters arrive today, with our first proper taste of event chaos due on 27-28 January. Get your character settled in, check out the setting and their assignment, and strike some CR:

More questions and it's a lot, sorry:

• At the end of Serthica, Vanessa was given a paper from Bale as a sort of ‘in’ to underworld bosses in other citadels. Does the paper give her any seedy boosts in this citadel?
• What sort of intern quests will she be given from the sorcerers and/or paladins in Gut’s Bind? I don’t need specifics I'm just hoping for a general idea of what she’ll be doing for them. You mentioned fetching spell ingredients so if that's all then feel free to ignore this question.
• Is it getting ingredients from different parts of the citadel, or just from across the room/building?
• I know the Big Stuff is locked beyond the Seal door, but will she be able to observe any rituals they do for anything, or is all magic prep and spell-casting hidden away?
• Also in the Gut’s Bind, or...I guess anywhere else she can eventually snoop around: are there any spell books or scrolls for her to find and peek at?

Heya — I'll tackle this time, but admit this is quite a fair few questions. If you can maybe limit things to one-two questions in the future and try to fill in the smaller details on your end, many thanks!

— maybe she can try to use it with the merchants for a little bit of clout! It'd depend on how Vanessa goes about it. Happy to take a pitch!

— fetching items, water and food for them, or waking and calling paladins and summoning them to the Gut's Bind for their shift.

— it'd depend on the ingredient. Not really relevant plot-wise, so happy for it to be either/both.
