Sound the drums, head on to war — seized citadel Alem has already been there for the lion's share of a year.

Under the Scavengers' guidance, the four sand worms the party captured gently graze underground corridors allowing the group to reach halfway up Mount Attevar. From there, they quickly infiltrate Alem through a bustling trade route.

Young King Deimar strikes a simple bargain: serve Alem in its bitter last days until inevitable downfall, and the citadel will grant access to its Beacon before the final evacuation is completed.

Sounds simple enough. Now, survive it.

Characters arrive today, with our first proper taste of event chaos due on 27-28 January. Get your character settled in, check out the setting and their assignment, and strike some CR:

Look he has to power his floating autoturrets and magic machine drills somehow and apparently Stephanivien decided that "aspecting one's inherent magic reserves to lightning/electricity" was clearly the direct way to do it.


New best Friend! You will have a very happy forge-squatter as Stephanivien needs space to build new giant siege weapons. Given that that's what he's normally doing. They can chat magic theory and mechanical theory and how to shove them together and it will be swell.

Look man, siege weapons aren't necessarily his favorite either—he's out the tail end of a thousand year war and was happy to see it go, but there is Kind Of A Dragon–

but actually yes please can they have spirited debates about the merits of magic and weaponry and engineering weapons.

And also they should... see if they can build an airship together. Stephanivien technically knows how to do it. With their combined powers they could probably swing it.

Viktor has not, historically, worked on airships but he is familiar and could probably get it done. SEEMS ACHIEVABLE

...imma be honest Viktor could probably swing Stephanivien very strongly on his side with this. look he's been a weaponsmith and warmachina forger for a long time but he also Genuinely Likes People and you could probably convince him.

Stephanivien's got the blueprints, the specs, and the know-how they just need to... figure out how to make them work on this planet instead of his home planet. That's definitely doable.

...does it help that it really is only effective against dragons? People are, frankly, a bit too small.

I mean, Stephanivien is down to just snagging it and holding still! while people try to negotiate! It's technically essentially the World's Largest Harpoon Shooter, he's definitely attached chains to it before.

It kinda needs to get built first tho. IF they can't at least immobilize the dragon, the dragon is just gonna kill more people
