PLOT ROLLS | JUNE

Hello, hello! The latest plot rolls are now live, linked below. They cover events between 22 June and 5 July.

As a reminder: everyone can participate, even if you didn't sign up. The recommendation is to choose one plot roll, to avoid getting overwhelmed — but no one's the boss of you.

You can make your own network posts, or play things out in the logs linked below.

NPC threads have been allocated, but threads will go up within the next few hours — you'll receive a relevant link at the time.

Feel free to use this post for all your plotting needs.

THE SUNKEN | LOG | Questions | Plotting

THE DISSENT | LOG | Questions | Plotting

THE CONCORD | LOG | Questions | Plotting

THE PRIESTS | LOG | Questions | Plotting

While much of the events overlap in terms of timeline, loosely you are looking at: the Sunken (towards the edges of the Crossing), the Concord, then the Priests (as the ships deepen their journey into the Crossing). The Dissent takes place more broadly throughout.

Licyn would ruminate that they should ask Hawk about his perception of Quicksilver's plans. Beyond that, for what Hawk knows of the fate of Quicksilver's prior crew and ship. More of a jest, but also suggest making a pass at him, because that's just what you do, right, if the opportunity presents. (Plus people are chatty when they're satisfied, or at least often suggestible.)

As far as an escape route, Licyn is prepped and ready to thrown down to get them off as soon as possible, because being trapped on a ship that's even less friendly to them than their drug-addled Queen or obsession driven Pariah is a bad plan. He is, in fact, very good at the running away part.

He also suggests they take their boat and the other boat, largely to cut off small vessel pursuit. RUN AWAY EFFECTIVELY, thank you all.

Will Viktor require any tossing into the steamboat for their exit when he's laden down by medbay supplies?

... also is he taller than 5'7"/171cm, asking for personal science

Licyn is a flirt, and chatty in general, so he'd focus on chatting up the sailors who appear to have either the inclination or the time.

What he's listening for and would lean toward is feelings on this chase, rumours about what the goals are for the pirate ships, how far into these waters the Concord safely presumes to take their chase. He'd be poking around to suss out any information on the Concord's opiates, but frankly he's most interested in rumours about surviving this BS they're clearly about to embrace.

Licyn's here to flirt his way into "how to survive this sea 101" and be the number one leader for knocking on doors and dragging everyone out, unless you're a fool who wants to stay behind and die because that's your problem.

He can either disarm an attacking sailor or not, but he would want to talk his way out of a fight before he'd wish to fight, because it makes their odds better in his general opinion. Who else is for talking their way off ship before a full out brawl?

But can we befriend a nightmare cat--

While appeasing spirits and the like, and all the things the priests are doing, are there ways for Wei Wuxian to go around and try to preventatively ward not against what spirits are around right now... but talismans aimed at restricting or rebuffing or slowing down bodied dead, lmf. All this heart of the Crossing and such, anything he can do to slow down physical vessels seems like a good idea, and because of the ease of moving around and being spirit laden and super-sensing all those spirits with the amulet on top of his usual skills, he'd want to also be forward looking beyond the cloudy sky moment they're navigating.

He'll ask questions only of a spirit that seems to be coherent enough to give halfway decent answers, who has mentioned the heart of the Crossing, and only after working toward appeasing them. My thought is he'd focus on:

1. Can you describe the 'woken dead' from the heart of the Crossing?

2. Why did the woken dead allow your spirit to go free?

Iiiif he gets an answer to #2 that makes sense to ask this final question, it'll be: 3. What spirits did not escape? But that's so circumstantial I don't know that it'll be relevant.

Okay, who needs a crash course in keeping sane when bumrushed by the dead all clamoring for your attention?

Wei Wuxian is here to help, and can offer talismans to help slow the roll of spirits coming after those of them helping, though I'm going to pre-emptively say none of them will work exactly as planned. So perhaps making spirits whisper instead of shout, or letting people have some space around them but still clearly being in the spirit's regards.

He'll shoot one arrow into the skies before he stops, because that kind of energy drain for him is one he considers dangerous, and he'll shoulder-tap anyone who needs to be pulled out of losing all their energy in that particular form. Get back to letting spirits vent to you, it's useful! Also... sad, but look, we all have sads in our lives to deal with. Also in deaths.

Let this resident necromancer help you out best that he can!

Su Xunxian can help out with the sharks, but especially if he doesn't have something to feed them as distraction, it'll still be advisable that they row past them in a more expedient way.

Beyond that, he'll be doing his best to charm the crew (and yes that may well go well towards flirting if there are those who are susceptible) which he will later use to try and ease things until Jim is done with the negotiations, hopefully.

Just in case something shakes up, is there something interesting that Xunxian might find out from animals on board, including the rats... since he'll be conversing.

Things Sizhui will be doing:

- Playing the guqin with calming melodies and spiritual energy to ease people down
- Attempting to tell stories which will probably be very different from anything the pirates have known.
- He might agree to some indulging the pirates, but may subtly pout his way out of something too bad.
- Try to seek out the owners of belongings left behind. It wouldn't even occur to him to loot.
- Help with the research / powering of restarting the sails because spiritual energy.

yeah I mean he can't really run, feel free to ragdoll him around. he won't like it but if people are firing cannons at them he'll get over it.

theoretically yes? but his posture is, just, so bad. so it really depends

Given the timestamp, I think I was writing my thoughts out to figure out a direction tbh. Excellent! It's more to have one more thing in inventory vs having a Solution; he'll shift gears some later anyway, with the spirit feedback he gets!

Thank you!

Wow how strangely familiar...

Thank you! I'll try tossing that up in a network post too in the next few days, looking at what it says.

Hello friends, I absolutely could not help volunteering this Light Soft Boy for this plot. He's a priest himself after all, it was practically a perfect fit.

I'm not 100% what Anduin's questions might be, I need to do some Thinking.

Anduin is a bleeding heart, so he's 100% going to help the spirits themselves, as best he can, though being a priest this will largely involve a lot of prayer, communing with the spirits, and his own Church of the Light-based ritual. I also want him to make Bad Decisions and wind up overtaxing himself and passing out for the 2 days, because while he is a healer, he can't heal himself of no energy, especially not if he has depleted everything in the tank :')

SO anyone want to be there for Anduin as he gets super priesty and makes some poor decisions?

would he help talk their way out of an extended fight at exit time? let's try to blow this joint without it being a fight, that'd be great, says the werewolf

If nothing else, Wei Wuxian's there to try and brace him up when he's passing out and going "ah, youthful mistakes"
