ANNOUNCEMENTS

We're tweaking a few things to preserve mod bandwidth. Hopefully everything makes sense, but please don’t hesitate to reach out on the anon-loving mod contact post, if that's not the case.

■ We are introducing a cap of 50 players. We're comfortably short of it at present, but mod math suggests this is probably our plot comfort zone. The cap comes into effect on 12 March.

■ AC requirements are tightening a bit to only allow one activity strike or one hiatus across a three-month period. To keep things even, we’re getting rid of the request for more AC if you’re reclaiming. That said, if you end up facing an emergency hiatus situation, please get in touch and we’ll work it out — we’ve all been there!

■ You can now apply for a third character, if you've met activity requirements for both your existing characters in the two months that precede the third application.

This shouldn’t conflict with the player cap, because most people tend to switch up whom they're active with plot-wise from one month to the next — so they don’t need much more mod support when they increase their character load.

Hey everyone make heart eyes at February! January activity results are in below for you — as are a few preparatory questions to get us all ready for Arc III: The House of Ravens.

A CURSE UPON YOUR COW

The House of Ravens will revolve around the theme of Redemption and feature... a great deal of curses that characters must break. Further details will become available on arrival, but fresh entrants to the villages will each receive two curses over the duration of the Arc: an "ancestral curse" that will command them to pay for the sins of a village elder, and a later curse that will require them to compensate for their own wrongdoings.

For both curses, you can choose between sins of pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony/drunkenness, wrath or sloth/indifference. Characters will have to devise ways to make up for these faults, depending on the storyline given to them. ( ex: choosing 'gluttony' could task your character to make up for a man who condemned a poor family to starvation by stealing all their grains during a period of famine. )

OTHER NOTES

■ The February calendar is now up! The locations and Story So Far pages will be updated mid-February once the Ellethia travel arc has ended.

■ We could carry out an end-February test drive meme, coinciding with the new Arc arrival. Or we could hold one in late March or early April, when everyone's a bit more settled. What's your preference?

Hi everyone — Happy New Year!

Start of-the-month round-up, ahead of the January bustle…

NEW YEAR, NEW ADMIN

■ Activity: after the December break, Activity Check (AC) requirements are back as of January. To pass AC, you’ll need just one proof among the following three options:

ONE network post or
FIVE log comments or
TEN network / text / inbox-style comments

AC remains mod-tallied at this time.

■ Story So Far: the Story So Far page summarising Arc goings-on has been overhauled, and you can now find the Taravast latest. Moving forward, the main entry will only house the latest Arc summary.

■ NPC inbox: a fresh NPC inbox has been launched for the Ellethia interlude and Arc III, to rotate NPCs. This comes into effect on 3 January. As a note for newer folks: characters can reach out to NPCs and try to wrestle information at any time — but unlike mod inquiries, these are short RP interactions, and it’s down to characters to figure out how to tease intel.

■ Calendar: the January calendar is now up. In the short term, expect the event & plotting post on 3 January and the CR meme on 3-4 January.

■ Applications: The Ellethia setup makes it a trifle more challenging to incorporate impromptu appearances, so we’ll have to briefly do timed and bulk application cycles in January. The relevant periods for when apps close / open are listed on both the calendar and the applications page.

■ Locations: the Locations page will be updated over the upcoming weeks. A Taravast blurb will join the existing Sa-Hareth one. Characters can freely travel in and out of Taravast and Sa-Hareth, as they please, if they secure transport.

Hi guys! Happy December — we’ve made it, the end of 2021 is nigh. Here are the latest activity check (AC) results and admin notes, along with a predictable December announcement:

DECEMBER ACTIVITY

As the prophecy foretold, in recognition of the end-year bustle that consumes our hopes, dream and livers, there shall be no activity check for December. This excludes reclaimed characters, who will only have to produce regular AC, rather than the 1.5 x compensation. Go forth, make merry. Kick 2021 in the shin on its way out.

OTHER NOTES

■ As a brief overview, our only plot-linked event of the month launches on 2 December and also subs as a test drive meme. It lasts until 22 December. An aftermath post detailing the outcome of the event and the remainder of everyone’s stay in Arc II: Taravast will go up on 23 December.

■ The 23 December post will include an attempt to open the Taravast beacon. Any characters who leave the game in the 20 November – 22 December period will be sent home through the beacon.

■ Anyone who wishes to canon update the timeline point of their character can also do so through the beacon, which will glitch and return them back to Akhuras. Give a shout here by 15 December if you want your character to do this, please.

■ An OOC vote will go up somewhere in the 10-20 December period, to decide the destination of Arc III. This will likely include two options, along with a ‘travel’ mini-Arc that is less plot-intense but feeds into the impending Arc III storyline. Apologies for the wide date range.

■ Bear and badges will both turn up.
