Hello, good people! It’s all about to go down with a Boom on 18 May during the log finale of Arc III.

■ After wrapping up Arc III, the party will enjoy a plot-light(er) ‘journey’ segment totalling four-six weeks, then head into Arc IV.

■ An out-of-character vote will go up over the next few days, so you can choose between two destination options for Arc IV.

■ Our next test drive meme takes place in early June.

For now, a brief idea of what to expect in the Arc III finale log below, so you can plot & plan your moves ahead.

THE TITHE

Catch-up: desperate villagers are revisiting human sacrifices in hopes of swaying the Ke-Sanwon volcano’s eruption. The rites were stalled for a few years, during which a traveller’s cure for droughts was purchased with tributes collected by the undead Beastmaster. The witches of the Fetters gained their power and animal hybrids began to roam around this time. Wrath and Emilia discovered the volcano contains magical energy and tormented spirits that have been capped by a fracturing dark mirror. The group stole keys to enter the House of Ravens sacrificial temple — which now opens for the eruption.

In family drama, it emerges the Beastmaster was once married to the Huntress (formerly Anui), who offered their son to Ke-Sanwon without his father’s say. The child disappeared. Both parents hope to find him in the House. Wrathion, Daenerys and Viktor have all will be sharing juicy details by 18 May, once NPC threads wrap up.

Hi everyone! Below are the two main quest options for the 29 April – 15 May.

■ There will be no mod-led log for this, but feel free to make your own logs, posts, send a carrier pigeon...

■ You can offer support and participate in either quest, even if you didn’t sign up for one.

■ Please ICly share any notable information your character gets with the group — there's been a bit of a decline on this, sharing is caring, etc.

And thanks to Wrathion’s player for summarising a lot of the Arc findings in an IC info post!

FEAST & FAMINE

Trouble stirs in the ‘idyllic’ village of Ke-Waihu, as locals face dark waters and prospective famine ahead of the looming arrival of the lord of the beasts.

■ Covering 17 March — 3 April, the event includes shared goings-on and assigned plot rolls. Characters signed up for plot rolls should please share relevant discovered information with the group via network posts/carrier pigeon.

■ You can help with a plot roll even if you didn’t volunteer for it — just talk to the players who did!

■There is currently no plan for a mod-posted log, but one can be put up on 18 March if at least 10 people say they want it.

■ Lastly, apps close for 4-6 weeks at 23:59 GMT on 15 March — so spread the word / get yours in by then. Thank you!

Feel free to use this post to plot away!

HOUSE OF RAVENS

Welcome to Arc III: House of Ravens — with brand new locations and individual curses and 'family' residential assignments.

As we depart lore-laden Ellethia, pass your eyes over a few key takeaways. It's all aboard on the vessel Salamera II for a trip by sea over 14-22 February, before arriving at the elusive village of Waihu-Jeou.

Jump into plotting, after a quick peek at what to expect from the arrival log of 23 February, which will also serve as our test drive meme.

Buckle up... )

Howdy, folks — it’s that time again! Please vote out of character for our upcoming Arc III destination before 23 December (the deadline is 23:59 GMT on 22 December, to be exact). One vote per player, please. There will be a mini travel arc interlude ahead of Arc III.

If any of the Arc III creatures or activities in the blurbs below trigger anyone’s phobias or cause unease, please PM @ [personal profile] groundrules, and we can try to see about adjustments. We like to reserve horrors for characters.

The Arc I keyword was 'survival', Arc II contended with 'politics.' Both Arc III options deal with 'redemption / sacrifice.'

Otherwise, a brief reminder:

Cast your vote for don Bonaccorso’s fate, if you haven’t!

✘ The aftermath post, including beacon action & a visit from our friendly bear, will go up on or by 23 December.

✘ The journey interlude should begin in the 1-4 January period (brief range to account for New Year’s)

✘ Apps close over 24 December-2 January.

Without further ado… )

Hello, hello! Some admin notes and a few updates, based on recent rolls & developments, to keep everyone nicely busy!

EVENT & TEST DRIVE

Taravast's coup event will kick off on 2 December and will also serve as our test drive. Like last time, test drive participants can app without an invite over the next three weeks ( until 21 December ). As a heads up, applications won't be judged over 24 December - 2 January.

ARC II WRAP & ARC III

A series of votes on the fate of Taravast, the beacon and our ensuing Arc destination will take place over 5-12 December. As with Arc II, we'll have a four-six week 'travel' interlude to reach the setting of Arc III. The events of the journey will feed into the Arc III plotline.

THE BEAR

...will still visit before we leave Taravast.

For now...

THE BUBBLING WAIT
■ Commoners repeatedly come to the Palace of the Doxe to beg Doxe Bonaccorso Spina's support to restore their districts from recent undead damage. They are turned away: Bonaccorso has once again taken ill, and the Taravast coffers are tight. Careful in the great outdoors — some furious petitioners throw rocks and minor fire spells at windows and into the gardens.

■ To contain the unrest, don Bonaccorso orders a tight curfew ( 06:00 to 20:00 ), bans the liberal use of sorcery or the display of weapons, and prohibits groups of more than five people.

Urged to action by Alina Starkov, Macaluso Spina seeks an audience with Bonaccorso on 27 November. By midday, word spreads that Macaluso has been placed under house arrest in his quarters and awaits trial for allegedly attempting to assassinate his grandfather.

Macaluso's household is broken up. Vannozza Spina offers the hospitality of her palace wing to her cousin's supporters for ten days while they make arrangements to depart Taravast.

■ In this period, characters assigned to Macaluso have their stipends reduced and receive unfriendly treatment at court. Guards often shove roughen them up in corridors. It's safest now to seek short-term accommodations in the rooms of Vannozza's supporters.

■ With their champion Macaluso detained, the Bessis sorceresses retreat from the Palace. Alone, the increasingly arrogant witches of Attaryl deliver the lady Vannozza for extended and highly guarded visits to don Bonaccorso's quarters. They also tally characters and question them about their backgrounds and magical abilities.
